Minimum Qualification

  • Undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) as recognized by SAQA
  • Basic Diploma for Traffic Law Enforcement.

Experience Required

10 years in Traffic Law Enforcement and Senior Operations Management

  • Proficiency in Accident Reconstruction techniques
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act
  • Understanding of PFMA and Public Service Regulations

  • Incident Management System (IMS) implementation.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years working experience in traffic law enforcement
  • 3-5 years experience as a Chief Provincial Inspector
  • 3 years experience at Junior Management or Assistant Director level.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct the management and enforcement of the National Road Traffic Act (93/1996) and National Land Transport Act (5/2009)
  • Oversee the implementation and registration of operational law enforcement and road safety strategic plans
  • Manage provincial registration and licensing services within the transport sector
  • Coordinate the provision and maintenance of traffic operational resources and assets
  • Lead the implementation of transport safety outreach and community awareness programmes
  • Supervise the administration of traffic information and management systems
  • Ensure the provision of effective incident management systems for road emergencies.

R896436. per annum. (Level 11) (All-inclusive remuneration package The inclusive remuneration package consists of a basic salary, the State's contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund, a medical fund and flexible portion which may be restructured in terms of applicable rules.
