Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Direct the management and enforcement of the National Road Traffic Act (93/1996) and National Land Transport Act (5/2009)
- Oversee the implementation and registration of operational law enforcement and road safety strategic plans
- Manage provincial registration and licensing services within the transport sector
- Coordinate the provision and maintenance of traffic operational resources and assets
- Lead the implementation of transport safety outreach and community awareness programmes
- Supervise the administration of traffic information and management systems
- Ensure the provision of effective incident management systems for road emergencies.
