Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and coordination for the Provincial Drivers Licence Inspectorate and Public Transport Enforcement Unit
- Align Regional and District Operational plans with national and provincial traffic strategies and budget statements
- Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of operational performance, implementing corrective actions for identified problem areas
- Coordinate stakeholder relations between state departments, Local Government, and various Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs)
- Manage the collection and analysis of regional law enforcement statistics to formulate new policies and service delivery models
- Develop provincial policies regarding public transport operations, legislation, and specialized prosecution
- Oversee the regional budget to prevent over/under-spending while monitoring the procurement of equipment and vehicles
- Ensure high-level vehicle, driver, and operator fitness inspections are conducted according to applicable legislation
- Research international best practices in traffic law enforcement to drive continuous improvement in KZN
