Minimum Qualification

  • NQF Level 6 Tertiary Qualification (3-year Diploma/Degree) in Traffic, Management, or Law
  • Basic Traffic Officer's Diploma

Experience Required

7-10 years in Traffic Law Enforcement Management

Requirements

  • Registered as a Traffic Officer
  • 3-5 years' management experience in Traffic Law Enforcement

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and coordination for the Provincial Drivers Licence Inspectorate and Public Transport Enforcement Unit
  • Align Regional and District Operational plans with national and provincial traffic strategies and budget statements
  • Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of operational performance, implementing corrective actions for identified problem areas
  • Coordinate stakeholder relations between state departments, Local Government, and various Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs)
  • Manage the collection and analysis of regional law enforcement statistics to formulate new policies and service delivery models
  • Develop provincial policies regarding public transport operations, legislation, and specialized prosecution
  • Oversee the regional budget to prevent over/under-spending while monitoring the procurement of equipment and vehicles
  • Ensure high-level vehicle, driver, and operator fitness inspections are conducted according to applicable legislation
  • Research international best practices in traffic law enforcement to drive continuous improvement in KZN
