Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse
- Experience in ICD-10 Code assignment and linking diagnosis with procedure codes.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Identify and manage externally funded patients for targeted case management intervention
- Execute clinical case management functions including obtaining pre-authorizations for emergency admissions and verifying medical scheme benefits
- Conduct daily ward rounds to identify billable services for RAF, Medical Aid, SAPS, and IOD cases
- Liaise with clinicians and medical scheme case managers to monitor hospital resource utilization
- Oversee ICD-10 coding and clinical documentation to mitigate the risk of funder rejections
- Provide technical support to the Revenue Office regarding coding accuracy and appropriate procedure selection
- Compile monthly clinical statistics on managed cases, authorization rates, and clinical rejections
- Ensure compliance with Case Management policies, protocols, and departmental procedures.
