Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Identify and manage externally funded patients (Medical Aid, RAF, COID) for intervention
- Obtain pre-authorizations and verify medical scheme benefits for emergency admissions
- Conduct daily ward rounds to identify billable services and provide clinical updates to funders
- Monitor ICD-10 coding and clinical information to prevent claim rejections
- Liaise between clinicians and medical scheme case managers to monitor hospital utilization
- Prepare monthly clinical statistics on cases managed and revenue protected
