Requirements
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Identify and select externally funded patients (Medical Aid, RAF, COID) for case management intervention
- Perform pre-authorizations for emergency admissions and verify medical scheme benefits
- Conduct daily ward rounds to identify billable services for RAF, SAPS, IOD, and other specialized categories
- Monitor and ensure ICD-10 coding accuracy to prevent claim rejections
- Liaise with clinicians and medical scheme case managers to monitor hospital resource utilization
- Assist the Revenue Office in linking patient diagnoses with correct procedure codes
- Compile monthly clinical statistics on managed cases, authorizations, and clinical rejections.
