Bachelor's degree or equivalent (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience Required

5 years in Senior Financial Management in Public Sector

Requirements

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and maintain financial information mechanisms to provide strategic technical advice to the Accounting Officer
  • Manage the effective and economical utilization of departmental financial resources and assets
  • Oversee the management of conditional grants and donor funds including the preparation of financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with the Division of Revenue Act (DORA) and National Treasury's Modified Cash Standard (MCS)
  • Implement robust internal financial control systems for delegated powers, asset security, and early warning monitoring
  • Lead the departmental budgetary process and exercise strategic budgetary control across all programs
  • Facilitate the implementation of a supply chain management system consistent with legislative imperatives and PPPFA
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and manage liaison with the Auditor-General

Salary Detail

Remunaration

R1494900.per annum. (Level 14) (An all-inclusive package) The remuneration package consists of a basic salary (70%), the Employer contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund and flexible portion, which may be structured in terms of the rules for the structuring of the flexible portion and which may include a 13th cheque, motor car allowance, home owner's allowance and medical aid assistance
