Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and maintain financial information mechanisms to provide strategic technical advice to the Accounting Officer
- Manage the effective and economical utilization of departmental financial resources and assets
- Oversee the management of conditional grants and donor funds including the preparation of financial reports
- Ensure compliance with the Division of Revenue Act (DORA) and National Treasury's Modified Cash Standard (MCS)
- Implement robust internal financial control systems for delegated powers, asset security, and early warning monitoring
- Lead the departmental budgetary process and exercise strategic budgetary control across all programs
- Facilitate the implementation of a supply chain management system consistent with legislative imperatives and PPPFA
- Oversee the preparation and submission of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and manage liaison with the Auditor-General
