Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years post-qualification experience as a registered Professional Engineer
  • Extensive experience in structural engineering design and project integration
  • Proven track record in engineering maintenance strategy and risk management

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform final technical reviews and formal approvals of engineering designs ensuring adherence to advanced design principles
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design efforts to ensure seamless technological integration across health institutions
  • Develop and oversee the execution of engineering maintenance strategies, including setting standards and service levels
  • Manage the operational capital project portfolio and MTEF budgetary objectives within the engineering environment
  • Provide expert technical consulting to minimize engineering risks and ensure compliance with OHS and environmental legislation
  • Lead knowledge sharing initiatives and continuous professional development to integrate new engineering technologies
  • Direct human resource functions including performance management, discipline, and future capacity planning
  • Oversee safety audits and waste management compliance across provincial health facilities
  • Establish and maintain statutory structures and effective communication arrangements within the engineering directorate
  • Implement quality control protocols for all engineering work delivered by the component

Salary Detail

Remunaration

R1266450 - R2388657.per annum (All-inclusive package). The package includes a basic salary (70% of package), and a flexible portion of 30% that may be structured in terms of applicable rules. Which includes state's contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund (13% of basic salary).
