Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Direct the strategic development and maintenance of provincial transportation infrastructure
- Oversee regional construction management for blacktop roads, gravel roads, and structures
- Manage the implementation of mechanical and technical services within the region
- Lead transport operations and ensure efficient service delivery across districts
- Monitor departmental compliance for EPWP (Expanded Public Works Programme) and labour-intensive projects
- Ensure robust financial management and corporate service support for regional offices
- Drive the development, implementation, and strategic review of technical policies and standards
- Manage the Chief Directorate's resources, including high-value infrastructure budgets and human capital
- Oversee surveying and structural design for road and rail networks
- Represent the department in research and policy formulation using international best practices.
