- Mastery of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) within the tourism context
- Strategic capability and leadership in sector transformation
- Advanced research, analytical thinking, and conflict management
- Expertise in investment promotion and trade policy frameworks
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience at a Senior Managerial level (SMS) in the tourism sector
- Completion of Nyukela Certificate for entry into the SMS
- Valid driver's licence
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to promote sustainable tourism growth and development within the Province
- Drive strategic initiatives for the promotion of tourism sector transformation and planning
- Manage the formulation and implementation of tourism policies, strategies, and programs including risk and integrity management
- Oversee the integration of Operation Sukuma Sakhe and the District Development Model (DDM) within tourism projects
- Direct the management of human resources, financial budgets (PFMA), and assets of the Chief Directorate
- Ensure effective stakeholder management across all levels of the tourism industry
- Lead provincial compliance with the Tourism Act and the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Act
- Manage the development of business plans and high-level project management for tourism infrastructure
