Minimum Qualification

NQF 7 Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or Built Environment Construction studies

Experience Required

5 years senior management in planning

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience at a senior managerial level (SMS) within the transport or built infrastructure environment
  • Extensive experience in planning, management, and execution of road construction and maintenance projects
  • Proven track record in high-level reporting and strategic financial management.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct the compilation and implementation of Provincial Roads infrastructure plans to enhance mobility and safety
  • Oversee large-scale road and bridge construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects
  • Manage road building material design and quality control processes across the province
  • Lead the implementation of contractor development programs and provide technical support to municipalities
  • Coordinate geometric and structural designs for urban and rural road networks
  • Manage the provincial abnormal permit office and wayleave approvals
  • Ensure strategic allocation and management of human, financial, and asset resources within the Chief Directorate
  • Formulate and execute policies that stimulate socio-economic growth through transport infrastructure.

Salary Detail

Remunaration

R1494900 per annum (Level 14), (an all-inclusive remuneration package). The remuneration package consists of the basic salary (70% of the package) and a flexible portion of 30% that may be structured in terms of the applicable rules which includes Government's contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund - 13% of the basic salary and flexible portion which may be structured in terms of the rules for the structuring of the flexible portion and which include a 13th cheque, motor car allowance, home owner's allowance and medical aid assistance. The successful candidate will be required to enter into a performance agreement within three months after assumption of duty.
