Required Competencies & Skills
- Deep understanding of the District Health System (DHS) and Community-Based Services
- Mastery of public service financial and human resource management protocols

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the Mpumalanga Comprehensive Service Plan.
Requirements
- At least five (5) years' experience at senior managerial level, preferably in a health-related field
- Proven experience in the provision and management of health services
- Experience in accounting to communities (e.g., Health Committees and Facility Boards).
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and quality assurance oversight for health services within the district
- Manage the delivery of District Hospital and Primary Health Care (PHC) services
- Oversee the implementation of the full package of district health services in line with the Departmental Comprehensive Service Plan
- Facilitate financial management and corporate support services for the district
- Build and manage key partnerships with local government, universities, NGOs, and the community
- Lead the drafting and implementation of Annual Performance Plans (APP) and District Health Plans (DHP)
- Monitor the National Health Insurance (NHI) Pilot Project (specifically for the Gert Sibande District)
- Ensure effective human resource management within the district's health structures.
