Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience as an Artisan or Artisan Foreman
- Extensive experience in managing technical workshop or field operations
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage and provide comprehensive technical support for field, workshop, and technical office activities in collaboration with Technicians and Artisans
- Enforce and promote occupational health and safety standards in strict accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Review and update technical manuals, standard drawings, and operational procedures to integrate emerging technologies
- Implement rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure all technical works meet established specifications
- Contribute expert input to the departmental budgeting process and technical operational plans
- Supervise the management of human resources, including performance monitoring, skills development, and utilization within the discipline
- Oversee the maintenance and management of technical assets and update relevant departmental databases
- Generate and consolidate high-level technical reports for departmental oversight
- Conduct research into new engineering technologies to enhance service delivery and organizational expertise
- Liaise with professional bodies and councils regarding discipline-specific technical and engineering matters
