Required Competencies & Skills
- Expertise in Clinical Pathology and Blood Transfusion protocols
- Sound knowledge of the Health Care Act, PFMA, PPPFA, and Public Service Act
- Proficiency in Service Level Agreement (SLA) management
- Skills in facilitation and project/programme management
- Advanced report writing and interpersonal communication
- Knowledge of Laboratory quality assurance and auditing
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years appropriate experience post-HPCSA registration as independent practice
- 5 years of appropriate experience in Management
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Support district leadership in formulating local policies for the economical and efficient utilization of Laboratory and Blood Transfusion services
- Liaise with strategic partners to establish clinical guidelines for quality institutional services
- Establish and maintain robust reporting systems and records to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Develop and implement continuous learning programs across all levels of care to optimize Laboratory and Blood product usage
- Coordinate, audit, and monitor the functionality of hospital transfusion and laboratory committees within the District
- Provide expert technical advice to District hospitals on matters relating to Clinical Pathology and Blood Transfusion
- Ensure compliance with the Health Care Act and departmental standards
