Minimum Qualification

Experience Required
3 years (Supervisory) in Public Sector Fleet Management
Required Competencies & Skills
- Expert knowledge of the National Road Traffic Act and Provincial Fleet Management procedures
- Proficiency in Supply Chain Management (SCM) practices and Transversal Fleet Contracts
- Advanced skill in using Hardcat (Asset Management Software) and MS Office (Excel, Access)
- Sound understanding of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and Public Service Act
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and fleet reports
- Strong leadership, conflict management, and change management skills
- Excellent technical report writing and presentation abilities
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Employment Equity Acts
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience specifically in Government/Public Sector Fleet Management
- Valid Code B Driver's License
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee the full lifecycle of state-owned vehicles including acquisition, optimal utilization, mechanical maintenance, and final disposal
- Manage vehicle compliance regarding registrations, licensing, and the processing of traffic infringement notices
- Investigate and address incidents of vehicle abuse and unauthorized usage
- Maintain a comprehensive and accurate Asset Register for state-owned vehicles
- Facilitate the reconciliation of monthly fleet costs and operational expenditures
- Provide strategic advice and technical input for the development of departmental fleet policies
- Supervise and manage the performance of staff within the fleet component
- Ensure adherence to Transversal Fleet Management Contracts and National/Provincial fleet policies
