Requirements
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee the identification, recording, and recovery of departmental debts, including negotiating complex payback conditions
- Monitor revenue collection against budgets and review disclosure notes for financial reporting
- Supervise the reconciliation of payroll interfaces between PERSAL and the Basic Accounting System (BAS)
- Authorize third-party payments (Tax, Medical Aid, Pension) and verify payroll certification for accuracy
- Ensure timely and accurate creditor reconciliations to facilitate payment of service providers
- Verify and authorize transfer payments and subsidies in compliance with financial legislative requirements
- Collate and verify financial supporting information for interim and annual reports, including conditional grants
- Manage the performance, training, and discipline of supervisees while maintaining effective work systems within the unit
