Requirements
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage the Accounts Payable function to ensure all supplier payments are settled within the mandatory 30-day PFMA timeframe
- Oversee the recording and reporting of departmental revenue in compliance with PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and DORA
- Review and authorize departmental bank reconciliations, ensuring all exceptions are cleared and internal controls are implemented
- Monitor departmental daily cash flow and manage the identification and recording of departmental debts
- Facilitate the timeous submission of financial notes and assist in the compilation of Interim and Annual Financial Statements (IFS/AFS)
- Coordinate interdepartmental receivables and payables to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Supervise the Financial Accounting team, including duty allocation, quality control, and performance management
- Develop and implement internal work systems to enhance the efficiency of financial processes
- Provide expert advice on the Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA) and Modified Cash Standard (MCS) applications
