3 years post-qualification in Infrastructure Planning and Architectural Services

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Expertise in architectural functional and technical norms
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS)
  • Advanced analytical skills in architectural service strategy
  • Knowledge of South African education sector legal frameworks
  • Skills in Master Planning and Accommodation Scheduling
  • Ability to perform technical condition assessments and feasibility studies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience
  • Professional registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Define and determine functional and technical architectural norms and standards for Provincial Education Facilities
  • Validate that infrastructure projects implemented by Implementing Agents comply with health, safety, and legal requirements
  • Update architectural norms based on findings from post-project and post-occupancy evaluations
  • Develop comprehensive Master Plans, Project Briefs, and Business Cases for infrastructure projects
  • Formulate Project Execution Plan Version 1 as part of the Infrastructure Programme Management Plan
  • Review Project Execution Plans (Versions 2-7) to ensure alignment with departmental architectural standards
  • Provide architectural inputs for the User Asset Management Plan (UAMP) and the final project list
  • Conduct condition assessments and research innovative green technology compliance requirements for the Department
  • Analyze architectural service strategies to realize the educational goals of the Department.

Salary Detail

Remunaration

R791604 - R849525 per annum, (all-inclusive annual salary package) of which 30% may be structured according to the individual's needs. The department will determine the salary notch based on years' experience post professional registration.
