Minimum Qualification

National Senior Certificate plus an appropriate undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in Financial Management or an equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.

Experience Required

2 years in Asset Management and Financial Systems

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations regarding asset management
  • Proficiency in financial and asset management systems (e.g., LOGIS/BAS)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Report writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to conduct physical inspections and audits.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an Asset Management environment
  • Proven experience in maintaining Asset Registers
  • Experience in the asset disposal process.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer the departmental Asset Register and ensure accurate data maintenance
  • Manage the end-to-end process for receiving and distributing new assets within the department
  • Coordinate and administer the formal disposal of redundant, obsolete, or unserviceable assets
  • Conduct regular physical asset verifications to ensure existence and condition of state property
  • Facilitate the reconciliation of physical assets against the financial systems record.
