Entry Level (Administrative or Financial background preferred)

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all 'in-service' and 'out-of-service' departmental debts
  • Facilitate and monitor the systematic recovery of outstanding monies owed to the state
  • Perform financial functions related to the formal 'setting up' of debts and subsequent recovery processes
  • Process debt write-offs strictly in accordance with approved debt management policies and PFMA procedures
  • Review debt account records periodically and compile detailed monthly progress updates for management
  • Ensure all debt-related transactions are correctly captured and managed on the BAS (Basic Accounting System) and Persal systems
  • Adhere to Treasury Regulations, Practice Notes, and the Income Tax Act during debt processing
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality regarding employee and departmental financial data
