Requirements
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all 'in-service' and 'out-of-service' departmental debts
- Facilitate and monitor the systematic recovery of outstanding monies owed to the state
- Perform financial functions related to the formal 'setting up' of debts and subsequent recovery processes
- Process debt write-offs strictly in accordance with approved debt management policies and PFMA procedures
- Review debt account records periodically and compile detailed monthly progress updates for management
- Ensure all debt-related transactions are correctly captured and managed on the BAS (Basic Accounting System) and Persal systems
- Adhere to Treasury Regulations, Practice Notes, and the Income Tax Act during debt processing
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality regarding employee and departmental financial data
