Zimbabwe and Namibia have booked their berth in the Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier after making it to the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Region Division One Qualifier. Neither Zimbabwe nor Namibia have managed to make it to a Women's World Cup till date across any format.
The Global Qualifier will take place early next year in Nepal as 10 teams will square off for four spots in the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup in June and July. Zimbabwe and Namibia join Nepal, Bangladesh, Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, Thailand and USA. The 10th nation will be decided from the East Asia-Pacific Regional Qualifier, which is scheduled to commence on September 9.
Zimbabwe got the better of Uganda Women in the first semi-final by five wickets and 14 balls to spare. Nyasha Gwanzura secured the Player of the Match for her all-round performance 2/17 in four overs and 17 off 6. On the other hand, Namibia had a more dominating outing against Tanzania in the second semi-final as the Sune Wittmann-led team defeated Tanzania by eight wickets and 37 balls left in the bank.
