The Zimbabwe Immigration Federation ZIF has conceded that the countrys government is not doing enough to prevent citizens from illegally migrating to South Africa.
The federations founder, Luke Dziviti, says many of the Zimbabweans who enter the country illegally are economic refugees.
The Zimbabwean government, which is a ZANU PF-led government, is currently not doing enough to stop all this because, firstly, the passport price has been so high in Zimbabwe and this is why you see many people coming illegally. The passport price in Zimbabwe was 4900 dollars, compared to R500, which South Africans pay, says Dziviti.
