zille warns ramaphosa noconfidence motion is serious

Democratic Alliance DA Federal Chair Helen Zille has made it abundantly clear that the party's threat to table a motion of no confidence against President Cyril Ramaphosa is not an idle gesture.

Zille's comments come in the wake of increasing frustration regarding the ANCs handling of corruption allegations within its ranks, which she claims tarnishes the presidents credibility and leadership.

Over the weekend, Zilles comments reverberated throughout South African political circles as the DA remains steadfast in its alliance in the Government of National Unity GNU, despite internal and external pressures.

This follows the controversial dismissal of Andrew Whitfield, the DA's Eastern Cape leader, from his position as a deputy minister.

Both DA and ANC factions have expressed desires for the parties to dissolve their collaboration within the GNU, yet the DA has categorically ruled out any abrupt exits.
