The Zambian government has welcomed the Constitutional Court order refusing the family of the late former President Edgar Lungu to directly appeal the judgement of the High Court in Pretoria.
The high court had found that the Zambian government is entitled to repatriate Lungus remains for the purpose of a state funeral and burial. The ConCourt has found that no case has been made out for a direct appeal.
Zambias Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa, says that the governments position on the issue remains unchanged.
