The Ministry of Technology and Science, in collaboration with Infratel, has launched the 2025 Infratel Girls in Tech Bootcamp, a flagship initiative aimed at empowering young girls to lead Zambia's digital transformation. The event, held at the Lusaka Legacy Resort on 18 November 2025 under the theme "Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators," provides a platform for girls to develop skills, confidence, and innovation in technology.

Officiating the event, Minister of Technology and Science Hon. Felix Chipota Mutati emphasized that girls should be defined by their intellect and capabilities, not gender. Highlighting examples of Zambian girls excelling in robotics and innovation competitions, the Minister stressed that opportunity should be available to all, and that young girls must be encouraged to compete on global platforms.

The Bootcamp addresses long-standing challenges in Zambia's tech ecosystem, including low female representation in ICT careers, limited exposure to global innovation platforms, and societal perceptions that technology is male dominated. By targeting Grade 11 students-a critical stage for career decisions-the program seeks to cultivate a new generation of female technologists, innovators, and problem-solvers.
