YouTube has introduced new artificial intelligence-powered tools for its Shorts platform as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations. The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 16, during the companys annual event in New York.
The updates include Edit with AI, which allows creators to transform raw footage into Shorts with transitions, background music, and AI-generated voiceovers available in English and Hindi. The feature, still experimental, will initially roll out in India and select markets.
Google said all AI-edited Shorts will carry SynthID watermarks and labels to indicate they were generated using artificial intelligence.
