The Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Department has expressed concern over the increasing incidents of suicide among young people in the country.
The department says the country is facing a crisis, with a national suicide rate of about 23.5 per 100 000 people . This is one of the highest rates in Africa.
According to research, suicide is the second leading cause of death among people aged between 15 and 29.
