Tiger Woods said on Saturday he has had lumbar disc replacement surgery to address severe back issues, the latest setback in a string of injuries that have stalled his return to the PGA Tour.
The 15-times major champion, sidelined since missing the British Open cut in July 2024, said Fridays procedure was successful after months of persistent pain and limited mobility.
After experiencing pain and lack of mobility in my back, I consulted with doctors and surgeons to have tests taken, Woods said in a statement.
