The rain once again played spoilsport at the ICC Women's World Cup 2025, as the 19th match between Pakistan Women and New Zealand Women at Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium was abandoned without a result. This became the fourth game of the tournament to be washed out, and all four have been in Colombo, which has been severely affected by constant showers.
With this result, South Africa became the second team to qualify for the semifinals, joining Australia. Pakistan's semifinal hopes are virtually over, while New Zealand's path to the knockouts has become even tougher.
There was no result as rain had the final say yet again. After multiple interruptions throughout the day, the contest was reduced to 36 overs per team, and Pakistan managed 92/5 in 25 overs before rain returned. Despite several attempts by the groundsmen to make the field playable, the game was finally called off, leading to both teams sharing a point each.
