South Africa Women secured a comfortable six-wicket win over New Zealand Women in Match 7 of the Women's World Cup 2025 on Monday, October 7, at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. New Zealand captain Sophie Devine won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, New Zealand were bowled out for 231 in 47.5 overs. Devine once again led from the front with a solid 85 off 98 balls, while Brooke Halliday 45 off 37 and Georgia Plimmer 31 off 68 provided useful support. For South Africa, Nonkululeko Mlaba was the standout bowler, finishing with impressive figures of 4 for 40.
In reply, South Africa Women chased down the target comfortably in 40.5 overs. Tazmin Brits starred with a fluent 101 off 89 balls, while Sune Luus anchored the innings with an unbeaten 83 off 114 deliveries. Amelia Kerr was the pick of the New Zealand bowlers, taking 2 for 62.
