The latest data from the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, shows broadband penetration climbed to 48.81 percent in May 2025, up slightly from 48.15 percent in April, a marginal gain that underscores a wider challenge.
With just months left to meet the 70 percent broadband penetration target set in the National Broadband Plan, NBP, 20202025, Nigeria still lags more than 21 percentage points behind.
