WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature on iOS that allows users to share recent group chat history with newly added members, according to a report by WABetaInfo.
The feature, spotted in WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.2.10.73, enables group admins or members adding someone to a group to share up to 100 recent messages from the past 14 days. The move is aimed at helping new members quickly understand ongoing conversations, addressing a long-standing limitation where new participants could not view earlier messages.
The option is not enabled by default. Users adding a new member can decide whether to share chat history and can choose to share fewer than 100 messages if they wish. WhatsApp also provides multiple confirmation prompts before messages are shared to prevent accidental disclosure.
