The Western Cape remains the province with the lowest official unemployment rate at 19.6-percent in the first quarter of 2025.

Western Cape Premier Alan Winde says the province has maintained a rate below 20-percent for three consecutive quarters.

Winde says improvements in the Expanded Unemployment, Absorption and Labour Force Participation Rates, further highlight economic progress.

He says over 100 000 jobs have been created in the province year-on-year.

Winde says continued support for businesses and entrepreneurs is vital to sustaining this momentum.
