As the Western Cape enters its hottest and driest months, firefighting teams across the province are strengthening their defences ahead of the peak fire season.
According to the Western Cape disaster management , municipal fire services are receiving support from specialised ground teams, working on fire crews, and local landowners to manage current incidents and prepare for the weeks ahead.
At present, active fires are being managed in the Overberg and Cape Winelands Districts, where local and provincial resources are working in close coordination to contain and suppress the blazes, as per NovaNews .
