Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has addressed the departure of goalkeeper Andre Onana, explaining the reasoning behind the decision to allow the Cameroon international to leave on loan, saying that it was for a much-needed change required at the club, Softfootball reports.
Onana, who made 102 appearances for United since joining from Inter Milan in 2023, sealed a season-long loan switch to Trabzonspor ahead of the Turkish transfer window deadline this week . While his exit came as a surprise to some, who thought that Onana, a choice player of Erik Ten Hag and now Amorim, could be shipped out of the club. But the Manchester United gaffer, Amorim, has clarified the circumstances for Onanas departure this evening.
Even if he wasnt shipped off, Onana has been a subject of constant headaches for either Manchester United fans or the technical crew. And this was due to his incessant goal gaffes made by the Cameroonian since he joined the club from his heroic campaign at Inter, which earned him a Champions League best goalkeeper award.
