The Western Cape Mobility Department says that traffic officers have intensified Easter road safety operations across major routes in the province.
Nearly 15 000 vehicles have been stopped and checked over the past two days, resulting in the arrest of 29 motorists.
The departments spokesperson Byron la Hoe says that almost all of the arrests had been for drunk driving.
