The Super Falcons of Nigeria began their 2024 Womens Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, campaign in emphatic fashion with a 3-0 victory over Tunisia on Sunday.

Nigeria got off to a flying start, with Asisat Oshoala heading home Omorinsola Babajides superb cross in the fourth minute.

Justine Madugus side controlled the tempo of the match throughout, with goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie largely untroubled.

Deborah Abiodun came close to doubling Nigeria's lead five minutes before the break, weaving past the Tunisian defence but failing to beat the goalkeeper.

Babajide made it 2-0 with a well-taken strike on the stroke of half-time. Moments later, defender Ashleigh Plumptre had a goal disallowed for a foul in the build-up.
