Botswana head coach Alex Malete remains optimistic that his side can pull off a major upset by defeating Nigeria's Super Falcons in their second group game at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
The Mares fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Algeria in their opening match in Casablanca on Sunday.
Nigeria, by contrast, were in imperious form, dispatching Tunisia 3-0 in the opening Group B encounter.
Botswana must avoid defeat against the Super Falcons to maintain any hope of progressing to the quarter-finals.
"We have to be calm and not desperate when we face Nigeria," Malete told SABC Sports.
