Gonzalo Garcia added a third late on, his second goal of the competition, securing Madrids unbeaten finish in Group H with seven points. That result sets up a last-16 encounter with Juventus in Miami on Tuesday.
Salzburg, meanwhile, exited the tournament, with Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia clinching second spot in the group following a 2-0 victory over Mexico's Pachuca in Nashville. Al Hilal now face Manchester City in the next round.
Madrid, still adjusting to life under new boss Xabi Alonso, were once again without star striker Kylian Mbappe, who is yet to appear at the tournament due to illness.
