Aaron Ramsdale has arrived in Newcastle from Southampton to undergo his medical ahead of his season-long loan deal, Softfootball reports.
Ramsdale, 27, is reportedly eager to leave the Championship club after their relegation, and Newcastles option was keen to the former Arsenal goalkeeper, who will now stand as no. 2, to Nick Pope.
Softfootball had reported that the d eal was a quick succession after Newcastle failed to bring James Trafford to the St. James Park due to Manchester City hijacking.
According to Keith Downie, Northeast Sky Sports News reporter, shared on his X a video of Ramsdale arriving in Newcastle from a private jet for his medicals, which are stated to run either today or Thursday.

Southampton, who paid Arsenal 18 million for Ramsdale just last summer, are pushing for a permanent sale. The deal comes shortly after Newcastle reached an agreement to sign James Trafford from Burnley, only for Manchester City to exercise a matching rights clause to hijack that transfer. Now, attention has shifted to Ramsdale, who could reunite with his former Bournemouth boss, Eddie Howe, at St. James' Park.
