Esperance Sportive de Tunis crashed out of the FIFA Club World Cup following a 3-0 defeat in their final Group D match.
The Tunisian champions had gone into the clash needing at least a draw to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive.
Defender Tosin Adarabioyo broke the deadlock in the 453 minute with a header, and just two minutes later, Liam Delap doubled the lead with a composed finish, netting his first goal for the Blues.
Any hopes of an Esperance comeback faded before Tyrique George added a third in the 907 minute to cap a dominant Chelsea performance.
With the defeat, Esperance finish third in Group D with three points, ahead of LAFC on goal difference but not enough to progress. Chelsea, meanwhile, advance to the Round of 16 after finishing second behind group leaders Flamengo.
Despite the disappointment, Esperance can take pride in their competitive performance, being the only Arab team to leave the competition with a win so far .
The early exit ends their fourth Club World Cup campaign, joining Al Ahly, Wydad Casablanca, and Al Ain.
