Vertiv , a provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has announced a new partnership with INTERNATIONAL CONTROL POWER SYSTEMS IPCS , appointing the Malawian company as its official distribution partner in the country. This collaboration aims to strengthen Malawi's digital and power infrastructure by making Vertivs full range of solutions available through IPCS, including AC power systems, integrated racks, and IT infrastructure management tools.
According to Rumbidzai Bere, IPCS's business development and marketing director, this partnership will expand IPCS's portfolio and help deliver scalable, robust solutions that meet Malawi's growing digital and energy needs. Gary Chomse, Vertiv's regional director for Central and Southern Africa, described the partnership as a strategic move that demonstrates Vertivs commitment to the Malawian market and its investment in key infrastructure.
The partnership is aligned with Malawi's National Compact for Energy, which has a goal of expanding electricity access to 70 of the population by 2030. With a young, tech-savvy population, the country is seen as being ready for the adoption of advanced data center solutions and AI-powered services. The collaboration is expected to provide the reliable energy and IT infrastructure needed to power new industries and drive innovation. This strategic move is part of Vertiv's broader restructuring of its African operations to better address regional market needs, positioning both companies to be at the forefront of Malawis digital and energy transformation.
