English Championship side Leicester announced on Friday that Ruud van Nistelrooy has resigned as manager following the team's relegation from the Premier League.
A club statement indicated that the Dutch manager and Leicester had mutually agreed to terminate his contract immediately.
The 48-year-old took over the struggling Foxes in late November after a short period serving as Manchester Uniteds caretaker manager.
However, he could not halt their downward trajectory , and they returned to the Championship after only one season back in the Premier League.
From his appointment in November 2024, he approached the role with professionalism, integrity and a clear commitment to our aims, including integrating several promising players from the clubs academy into our first team environment.
