Students at the University of the Western Cape UWC have shut down the campus, blocking vehicles coming in and out demanding accommodation.
Student Representative Council SRC President, Mcntosh Khasembe, says there are about 4 000 students that still need to be placed in residences.
They are holding all shuttles hostage, demanding that Vice Chancellor Professor Robert Balfour addresses them.
