Umniah by Beyon announced today the signing of a five-year strategic partnership agreement with Ericsson , a global leader in telecommunications technology, to modernize and expand its Radio Access Network across 3G, 4G, and 5G in Jordan. Under the new agreement, Ericsson will serve as the exclusive provider for Umniah's network upgrades, supporting the Kingdom's digital transformation, strengthening national infrastructure, and preparing the country for the next decade of innovation and growth.
Today, Umniah by Beyon is Jordan's fastest mobile network, delivering exceptional speed, coverage, and performance across the Kingdom. This partnership further reinforces that leadership by equipping Umniah with the latest Ericsson Radio System technologies to enhance capacity, improve reliability, and keep the network ahead of rising data demand and evolving digital needs. As part of the agreement, Ericsson will deploy advanced antenna systems, including the Massive MIMO TDD AIR 6419, along with high-performance baseband units such as the Baseband 6631 and 6621. These upgrades will modernize the network with greater efficiency and intelligence while reducing operational energy consumption and lowering carbon emissions through more sustainable and lighter radio technologies.
The collaboration also includes the deployment of Ericsson Spectrum Sharing, a solution that enables 5G services to operate over existing 4G frequencies. This capability will allow Umniah to extend advanced connectivity to rural and underserved areas, promoting greater digital inclusion and supporting communities across the Kingdom. With these enhancements, customers will benefit from faster speeds, lower latency, and more consistent coverage, improving access to essential digital services such as remote education, e-government platforms, entertainment, and mobile financial services.
