Donald Trump officially inaugurated his new golf course in Scotland on Tuesday, bringing to a close a five-day visit during which the US president signed a major trade agreement with the European Union and issued an ultimatum to Russia to end the war in Ukraine within two weeks.

Accompanied by the sound of bagpipes, secret service agents and golfers mingled across the scenic Aberdeenshire course as Trump prepared to tee off. "We started with a beautiful piece of land, but we made it much more beautiful," he told attendees before cutting the ceremonial red ribbon. "The area has really, really welcomed us."

Trump, joined by his son Eric-who spearheaded the project-teed off shortly after the ribbon-cutting, with fireworks and his campaign anthem, "YMCA" by the Village People, playing in the background. "Well play it very quickly, and then I go back to Washington DC and we put out fires all over the world," Trump said. "We're gonna have a great and peaceful world."

Eric Trump described the course as his father's "Mona Lisa," adding, "Sculpting the dunes, sculpting the land-that was always his painting." The development, boasting what is said to be the worlds largest natural bunker, offers sweeping views of the North Sea and promotes an environmentally sensitive design, according to a press release.

Visible in the distance were offshore wind turbines, which Trump once famously opposed. He reiterated his criticism of wind power during meetings with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Sunday and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday.
