Former Arsenal defender, William Gallas, has kicked against the Gunners move to sign 28-year-old midfielder, Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.
According to Gallas, Mikel Artetas side currently have Declan Rice and there is no need to bring Merino to Emirates.
Merino has been identified as Arsenals No.1 target this summer.
Reports last week suggested an agreement is imminent.
But Gallas feels the Premier League North London club need a new striker not Merina.
