The Western Cape Mobility Department has issued a warning to motorists heading towards Beaufort West, as significant traffic congestion has been reported, particularly for those travelling from the Cape Town direction, reports Cape town Etc .
On the morning of Saturday, 20 December, Chief Director of Traffic Management, Maxine Bezuidenhout, stated that while no accidents have been recorded as of yet, delays are expected as vehicles continue to accumulate in this critical travel corridor.
Network towers in the area are currently under pressure, which is affecting some communication platforms, Bezuidenhout explained, highlighting the additional challenges faced by motorists amidst the increased volume of holiday traffic.
