Confidence among Tourism Update readers that preparations for Africas Travel Indaba 2026 are on track remains low with the majority 59 indicating they are not confident about current preparation timelines. A further 18 said they are somewhat confident while 15 said it is too early to say and just 8 are very confident.
This follows concerns raised by some stakeholders about delayed stand allocations and exhibitor planning processes although SA Tourism said preparations are underway with 528 buyers confirmed and online diaries expected to open on April 24.
South Africas new Electronic Travel Authorisation ETA pilot system is now being used by travellers from China, India, Indonesia and Mexico, giving the trade its first practical experience of the new digital entry system.
