The Tshwane Metro Police Department TMPD says its officers have arrested over 40 people for various road traffic violations during its Easter Road Safety operations along the N1 Highway on Thursday.
Some of the offences include drinking and driving, drinking in public and jaywalking. Various law enforcement agencies are conducting roadblocks as holidaymakers travel to various destinations for the Easter Weekend.
TMPD spokesperson, Isaac Mahamba, was speaking at the Pumulani Toll Plaza in Pretoria.
