President Bola Tinubu has sent a message of motivation to Nigeria's Super Falcons, encouraging them to secure a record-extending 10th Women's Africa Cup of Nations WAFCON title as they take on host nation Morocco in the final this evening at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
The President's message, presented in a personally signed statement on Saturday, highlights the nation's tremendous pride and steadfast support for the team.
In his remarks, Tinubu praised the Super Falcons for their "awe-inspiring" performance throughout the competition. He commended their demonstration of pride, honour, and resilience, both on and off the field, emphasising their exemplary sportsmanship.
The President particularly acknowledged their compassionate visit to Gabriela Salgado of South Africa's Banyana Banyana, describing it as an act that "reflects our shared humanity, empathy, and sisterly affection, which we Africans hold in high regard."
Tinubu highlighted the team's impressive statistics, stating that if 'statistics alone win matches, you are already champions."
